Both of my parents lived lives filled with the music and literature. My mother, one of ten children, played piano and sang just like her other nine siblings. I remember record parties and spending time listening to recordings of jazz and blues on with my dad’s and his 78 record collection. What else was I to do but study piano, guitar and dance? Theatre came later. While neither parent was thrilled with my choice to become a “star” instead of a teacher, they nevertheless saw their way through to support my artistic cravings and challenges. Today, I find myself living in a community surrounded by actors, musicians, visual artists and writers and academics. It represents the best of my dreams and the best of both parents. I dedicate this page to my parents’ memory. All donations received through this page will be used to continue the work of Project Sheba: new play productions, art education and festivals dedicated to enriching and awakening lives through the arts. All donations are tax deductible.
